Aung La announces World Middleweight Defender


ONE Weightlifting Champion Myanmar MMA Champion Aung Lan San will defend his middleweight world title on October 30. Aung San Suu Kyi will face off against the Dutch middleweight champion De Rida as the defending world middleweight champion. The ONE Championship has announced the four-time World Champion Challenge to be held on October 30, entitled Inside The Matrix, featuring Aung San Suu Kyi.

Aung San Suu Kyi will have to compete in her first match of the year since October due to the global Kovis-19 disease. Aung San Suu Kyi last fought in the middleweight world title defense in March 2019, more than a year and a half later. Aung San Suu Kyi is the fourth defending world middleweight champion to fight De Rida, winning all three of her last three bouts. Aung San Suu Kyi has played two matches against Hasegawa, a Japanese national. He has won all three of his matches against Lebanese Karaki, defending the title.

Derrida has won all 12 bouts and holds the record for most defending world middleweight titles. Aung San Suu Kyi also defeated Filipino Brendan Vera of the Philippines in the last light heavyweight world title defense in October 2019. Aung San Suu Kyi is the ONE Cham pionship Middleweight and Light Heavyweight World Champion. The Light Heavyweight World Defending Champion has won every match.
